Resolved Question: I'm currently in the DEP waiting to go to Army Basic Training.?

I passed my pre-basic task list (all the tests online) in about 2 days. I was promoted a few days later to E-2. Now, about 3 months later, I am told the recruiting commander over louisiana (a colonel) is coming to officially promote me personally. Is this normal? It seems like I would be too small potatoes for him to come from baton rouge all the way north to shreveport to do this. Maybe i'm overthinking it, but i'm just curious, is all.
